Good luck with your training!! Chi's are notorious for being stubborn for sure. Ellie is litter box trained and she goes outside, but even at 4 yrs old she will still have an accident. The advice here is good!

Hello I have a 7 week old chi puppy and I would like some advice to weather or not If i should keep him in his puppy carrier at night ? I have read where it is recommended to not let them have free roam of the house when they are not house trained. keeping in mind he is only 7 weeks old and still very very little. any advice ? Thanks

Mardoin....7 weeks old is extremely young to be wondering around alone at night..keep your pup safe and in the cage.

Mardoin, I agree, your pup is safe and should learn to feel safe, in a crate at night.

Mine took about 3 nights to learn that his crate was his bedtime place, and that I'd take care of him and come back for him when the alarm went off (or he cried to go outside, within reason). He can see me, has a blanket, and does very well sleeping from 10:30 pm to 5am in there. I can rest too, knowing he is safe. I got Barney at 8.5 weeks, and he only ever had about 3 accidents in the first few weeks - otherwise is fine and dry in the morning. He slides out for a hug, and we go outside right away. Everyone is happy and safe
