Have you ever come across a phantom merle Chi?

I've seen some online advertised. Phantom merle just means (at least to the best of my knowledge!!) that the dog CARRIES the merle gene but doesn't "show" it (i.e. isn't actually merle colored.) So they say it's phantom merle, if it's in the dogs genetics but not necessarily on it's coat. Correct me if I'm wrong!!

Like a hidden Merle? Penny is one... She has a Merle parent but no Merle markings. She used to have a few but the disappeared.
