Exclamation Help! They attacked a sand pile....

I am worried that the sand we had delivered and spread today is a hazard for the lil chi's. They ran like wild animals when they were out...sand spraying everywhere...they had a blast, but what a mess...eyes, ears, total body all covered! They shook a lot off and I toweled them and then brushed them, but am worried they could have ingested by nose or mouth. Would that hurt them?

I am stuck with this sand until Saturday when the grass will be put down. They will love the grass...we have always just had coral rock--yuck.

So should I worry? Should I leash them and make them potty elsewhere in the meantime? Has anyone had their chi's play in the sand before? I can't believe how crazy they went (only 2 are here right now) chasing each other!

I don't think it will hurt, I would take my dogs to the beach or the lake all the time and never had any problems. And that was even wet sand, it stuck even more than dy sand.

did they go nuts running around like it was the first time in an open area??? Which is not the case here...this is the same area just different ground cover

Oh they celebrated Pam! Now I am wiping icky matter out of the eyes
My one sc has some stuck to the bottom eyelid, but will not let me get the eyewash to it...3.5lbs and kicks and squirms like a 200lb bull! They are exhausted as am I, so off to bed in a few...hopefully the eyes will be ok during the night and just matter up like ours do if we've gotten into something. Noses seem to be okay.

Who would have thought this would be such a mess

It was/is their Christmas present!!! (the grass, that is)
