Oh she is the cutest wee thing...I just saw a picture of her. What a coat on her...
When Rico was a baby..it was spoon feeding and nutra-cal for a while. If I put kibble down inthe dish it might stay there...
Then I put him on orijen and his appetite has really changed, and maybe he just grew upo...but this pup will eat anything....really he can eat, raw, vegetables, meats, raw bones, kibble...what ever.
the origen has a strong smell...maybe that was it...I'd keep looking for some other foods to make the diet more balanced. Rico does love food so much that I offer up the veg, green beans and fingerling carrots as treats.
WE have a pet bakery here that has samples of different premium dog foods to try...maybe a pet shop near you has this too...

Thank you Rubia...Her coat is unreal..looking at all of the pictures on this site of the long hairs, none have the coat she has.. I have ordered the kiwipeak and going to try that to see if I can get some weight off her...yours is adorable...I remember the baby pictures..they grow up so fast I weighed Ellie last night and she is 6lbs, 8oz, so she is not as "huge" as I am thinking she was...it's the fur!! haha

Feeding only one type of protien may lead to allergies so I would suggest changing her diet to either a premium brand of kibble or a raw diet. Cooked chicken is not really the best thing out there. Picky eaters are made, not born and with a bit of tough love, she will stop being a food diva and eat what you put down. You are the boss of her food, not her.

If she is honking, more than likely, she has a collapsing trachea. This is not uncommon in Chis. Spacely does it when he gets overly excited, upset or excercises a lot. I gently stroke his throat to help it open back up and calm him down. At all other times, he is fine.
Pssst..FYI..Honking is reverse sneezing...coughing can indicate collapsing trachea when it's mixed with trying to catch breath...If you've heard both you can tell the difference.
