Question Always gotta be on her feet

Hello
I have had Bitsy for over a year now. When we first got her it seemed strange that she would never want to lay or be on her back at all. If I try to lay her down she fights to stay standing up, even when she is in bed with us and I'm rubbing her she won't lay on her back, she will only open her legs so that I can rub her tummy. She is always super tense and really afraid of being off of her feet. Now that we have our second puppy Carmella I can just really feel the difference between them! Somebody told me once that chihuahuas can't breath on their backs, could this be true? Just curious if anybody has heard of this?

Chihuahuas can definitely breath when they are on their backs. Some dogs do not like it though. It is a vulnerable position for them.

Mine don't like to be on their backs either unless they're on their plushy pillow beds.

It's is definitely not a breathing issue for a healthy dog. All of mine will tolerate it and 3 I can carry around like babies and 2 just dont care for it. lol So it's just a preference of hers.

Having dogs is like having beautiful innocent children who never grow up.
All the best parts of childhood are right there with wagging tails.

Anyone who ever wondered if I was crazy lost all doubt once they saw me with 5 chihuahuas in clothes!!
