I have a six month old female Chihuahua. She is very listless and not wanting to move around much. After he first period she stopped eating and drinking water. My daughter took her to the vet. He gave her amrforol and cerenia. She has lost so much body mass that she is down to skin and bones. I am worried for her health and my daughters are devastated. Has anyone encountered a similiar situation?

Hi there ... I only saw this now. Ur dog sounds like she is going down hill fast. She needs to go back to the vet for further investigation asap, if u havn't already done so since u posted this comment. From what u describe, I'm suprised ur vet has not hospitalised her and run tests. I know this could work out pretty pricey, and if money is an issue at all, approach the RSPCA, or ur vet may let u pay the bill off. But whatever, she needs checking out because something does not sound right at all. Good luck and do let us know how she gets on

How have her poops looked? Is she having diarrhea or have blood in her poo? I am no expert but if she hasn't had her shots it could be parvo she may have contracted from being near another dog.

Also, she could be losing all that weight for some reason, it sounds like you should take her to the vet pronto. I hope everything goes well!!!
