Default It's Holly's turn to get spayed

I had applied for a low cost spay for Holly a couple of weeks ago. Even though I'm just outside the area I was approved! Yea! So if everything goes smoothly, she'll be getting spayed on the 26th of this month.

Speaking of spaying, what type of collar did you use after getting your chi fixed? Was it one of those plastic e-collars or did you use something else for your pup? Those plastic collars never did look all that comfortable and I want to keep Holly as comfortable as possible while she heals up.

I think it's SV and a couple others recommend a onsie (sold in the baby department for newborns). Which after having kittles done Tuesday and her being in the Cone of Shame which honestly her bucking around like a bronco to get it off I think is worse for her than anything else I am getting a couple onsies tonight to see if I can make something more comfortable for her out of that. She is just not adjusting to it and contorting herself constantly to remove it ~she is losing her mind with the cone. I have also seen discussion of an inflatable gojigger but have never seen one of those.

Yeah, i love using the onsie much better than the rigid cone. Of all my dog getting neutered or spayed, only one for them needed a onsie. And that was out of 13 dogs getting done. Wait until she gets home and see if she even needs anything. Marmalade is a constant licker, so I figured she would need something and she did for the first three days, then even that came off.

Really, a onsie? I never even thought about using those! lol

Awww, poor thing. Can't say I blame her. If I had to wear that darn thing I'd probably lose my mind too!

Hmm, my kids may be older, but I might actually have one around somewhere. lol

If you do use one, try it upside down, with the snaps on the top. It covers more area and it's easier to get on and off. You may have to cut a hole for the tail. I was lucky with Marmalade, she doesn't have a tail.

Good luck to Holly and yey to you for getting a low cost spay!

When Hershey got spayed, I didn't use the collar that the doctor gave. Hershey wore a onesie. Got it from Svdreamer too
