Default after cutting her nails...

After I cut her nails, they are even more sharp! I'm all cut up lol...What can I do to make them less sharp? Has anyone ever tried filing them down after clipping?

I can't keep my dogs still long enough to file so I just walk them up and down the concrete driveway acouple of times and it rubs the sharp edges off.

Yes, filing helps if you can manage to do it, LOL. I file Nilla's nails after I cut 'em. I bring Hershey to the groomer for a nail grind since she won't let me cut her nails.

I always file Lulu's nails after I clip them to smooth them over, but I think she is one of the rare ones that sits still for it.

I find the same thing, they're so sharp! My friend who has two chihuahuas files them after she cuts them, but I can't get Odie to stay still for that long.

I cut and file Holly's she lays still and has the whitest nails so easy to do her. Now Zoe has mostly black nails so I let the vet or groomer do hers and they must smooth them.

That is sweet that she lays still like that!

I wasn't joking about walking them on a concrete driveway. It actually works.

Grinders work awesome. NO rough edges. You can get them short. There is a learning curve for the dog, but once they are used to a grinder, you'll never go back to clipping.
