Hey, I've got my little fella and hes 15 weeks old hes just simply not eating enough hes not picky about it hes on Royal Canin Chihuahua Junior with ceaser meat to try and well get him munching! Hes not lethargic and his sugars haven't dropped low yet but hes meant to eat 33 grams of food a day and he goes eats like a mouth full and loses concentration on his food and will not go back to it, I've done the down for 15 and take it back he doesn't care come the next meal he'll have a little pick and leave it again, i've added water and obviously meat for taste and incase his wee teeth couldn't cope his tiny fat bellys disappearing, like his puppyness

When I got Jem she was on Royal Canine too. She loved it but I wanted to get her on a 5 star food so I switched her to Blue Buffalo and she didn't like it at all. I'm not sure if it was because of the taste or the kibble was too big for her. I then switched her to Taste of the Wild and she's been doing well on it. However, for those times when I feel like she's not eating enough I give her Nutrical. I read about it on here and the breeder I got her from recommended it as well. If you're worried about him not eating enough I would suggest using it as a supplement to make sure he gets in all his calories and so he doesn't get hypoglycemic.

oh boy~ dex was on royal canin and cesar gourmet when he was a pup...when i didnt know any better about good brands of dog food out there...he has bad reactions to it as he kept pukin up chunks of it...and i didnt know why he was doing this until i found out just how low of a brand they both were...anywho after changin about 20 times worth of food...LOL he now sticks with wellness core reduced fat...as hes 4 years old now. but KC when she came from the breeders they fed her FROMM which is a great brand but gave her a fishy breath from the puppy formula...and they even had to soften up te dry food with warm water for a few mins and serve...i did that for a while with her on wellness core puppy and she loved it...and still does mebbe ur little fella knows that thats not the kind of food he wants at all! perhaps u can try changin to a higher star food and doing the soak method...and seeing if he'll eat that instead? goodluck!

I am feeding Rocky Acana and Orijen. They are really good foods as well. You can find a lot of good foods on Zooplus UK.
Wetfood wise Terra Canis sensitive is quite good.

Apparantly Fish4Dogs have changed their formula in most of their varieties, reducing the amount of fish hugely, which is a shame. I think the Supreme variety is still the same though.
Harley would never eat enough kibble. His appetite only increased when we started feeding raw. ZiwiPeak is an excellent convenient alternative, it is what I would use if I didn't feed raw.

First off, switch him to a better food. Feeding RC and Caesar is like feeding your kids Kraft mac and cheese and twinkies every day!! He really needs every bite to count in nutrition and those foods are honestly mostly fillers. Raw and premade raw are always best, but if they are out of your budget, you might like to take a look at Acana or Fromm kibbles. I feed Gemma Acana in the morning and fresh raw in the evening. She does really well on the Acana Grasslands formula.

All the kibbles listed above arent stocked by our pet shop or bigger chain store in town, being from the UK american brands cost an arm and a leg and id like it to be affordable to throw away if he won't touch it... But RC was recommended by our vet and the breeder so as far as i knew it must be good enough, Ive put him onto natures diet/ natures menu meat using the rc as a crunch hes eating it just fine now. Is there anywhere that gives samples of the higher priced dog food since well some of the higher quality food i found (all for big dogs) was running at £30 for a tiny bag not something id want to chuck out
