I have been giving a half pump of Grizzly Wild Alaskan Salmon oil once a day to Lady for about two months now. She never had skin issues but I wanted to see if it improved her coat. I would say it did, until recently. I brush her daily to distribute the oils but she seems to have gotten a little "greasy" looking (looks like she needs a bath after a couple weeks). I probably need to cut back on the amount per day or days given. How often should you give it for benefit to the coat? The bottle is rather ambiguous, it says use regularly which could be about anything. I have also been giving it to Prince and between that and getting him on Ziwipeak, he has got some nice soft fur going! His coat was a little blah when I got him. I do recommend both these products as the dogs fur feels cat fur soft.

I don't know how much to give for a chi. I'd cut back if her coat is getting greasy.

I give the same amount for mine if the same brand. I can honestly say that I can't tell a difference, but I started while he was young, and he still is. However, I gave it to my mom for her dog, and I'm shocked by the change each time I see it
I'd probably give her half what you ate now. Maybe make a few days in advance so that its easier to measure. It shouldn't make any kibbles mushy or anything icky like that.

Missy takes salmon oil everyday. A whole pump. Shes 3 yrs old and weighs 7.6. But she had skin issues. But no greasiness has occured.

I would cut down the dose as well maybe 1/4 of a pump and the omega 3 is fragile stuff. If you buy a bottle of oil it is exposed to oxygen and starts to oxidize and go rancid right away. So I would keep,it in the fridge.

for those of us who have capsules, what would you suggest as the proper dose for our little babies?

I usually puncture the capsule with a knife and squeeze it on to a plate.
