LOL yuck! Glad I don't have cats! I just caught her about five minutes ago trying to eat her poop yet again! I saw her with it in her mouth and said NO and she dropped it and hid under the couch lol. Has anyone tried the Adolph's meat tenderizer?
Fortunately, or unfortunately, we are humans and they are DOGS. They find the taste delightful. It obviously is not harmful, or we'd have alot of sick dogs! I just try and pick it up right away, but find 'pieces' of poop around, that she'd (Bonnie) just picked up and then left in the living room etc. Sometimes she eats it, most of the time just walks around with it and leaves it.
I've had a few fosters who are poo snatchers! No fun at all- so I can sympathize! There is a product called Forbid that is made to be sprinkled on their food over a series of days that doesn't taste initially bad to them, but passes out as very bitter to deter them. The only catch is if your pet is eating OTHER dogs' poo, you have to treat each dog which can get pricey. If I have a poo eater present, I just pick up the poo right after they go.
Just got home from a late night trip to Wal-Mart and got some of the meat tenderizer, just sprinkled some on her food and she seems to be eating it with no problems. We shall see if this stops her nasty habit!
