Hey guys! Ava is 15wks old now, and one ear will stand slightly erect while the other flops over. I don't mess with them at all so that I don't break the cartlidge. Just wondering if they should be standing up by now or if she's a late bloomer? Or will they stand up at all?
She is still very young. Sometimes they don't come up until after teething. Or they'll come up, flop down during teething, then come up again. Usually you can't 100% know what's going on until they are done teething. There are some Chis whose ears never go up but at 15 weeks it's anyone's guess what will happen.
I wouldn't. It's 99.9% likely that they will stand up. I'd just wait and see. It's not like other breeds (dobies, pits, etc) whose ears are cropped and taped.
And from your profile pic, it looks like they are on the right track to standing up on their own.
You'll likely see them slowly starting to stand up, and then maybe flop when she's tired. This is Odie at around the same age, and her ears look exactly like Ava's in your profile pic. My bet would be that they'll both be totally up in no time.
I was in your shoes! I thought Chloe ears were NEVER going to stand up. It was a good 20-24 weeks before it finally happened. I know waiting is hard, but it will happen!
