They do have LOTS of personality. I never dreamed in my life I would have a chi. I have always had large dogs but when we started looking for a smaller dog I started falling in love with chihuahuas and Jaxx melted my heart the first time I saw him.

A looooot of Chis don't start barking until they're 8mo or there abouts. He will...I am sure of it. He may not be a huge barker but I'm sure he'll increase. LOL

As for the teeth....Chi teeth are so annoying!! When he's neutered just ask them to remove all his left over baby teeth. Sometimes you can get the incisors out on your own. Some just "pop" out w/your finger nail because they're just hanging. But yeah...chews, rope toys (tug of war is useful!), nylabones...all will help too.

Crackers and Tia only bark when some thing is in our yard or knocks on the door.

My Axle hardly ever barks. Unfortunately his siblings more than make up for him though.

Roxie was getting a second row of incisors in on the bottom. She and I were playing "bullfight" because she loves chasing blankets when I fold up my laundry, and she tugged on a blanket... Then one of her teeth fell on the floor! Just like with everything else on the ground, she was about to eat it. Luckily enough, I snatched it up... Then I slightly freaked out, but quickly realized it was just her baby tooth.

We played and played tug several more times and I was hoping to help the second incisor along, but it didn't work. The vet ended up pulling it and a couple other baby teeth out when she was spayed. They saved the teeth for me, and now I have a little collection for the scrapbook! haha.

Roxie definitely knows how to bark. She barks at lots of things outside... She hates garbage day (that truck is really loud!), the mailman, anyone who isn't me or her papa coming onto the porch, skateboards/wheelchairs/strollers/bikes, things she thinks pop out of nowhere, dogs that are too far away that she can't say hi to...

Oh, my pup is so noisy. She's doing a LOT better now that I've taught her Quiet. We're still working on it now, but instead of barking like she's CRAZY she just lets out a couple barks, looks to me, I say quiet, and then she runs over to me because she thinks I have a treat. haha.

Smile Funny Puppies!

All puppies are so funny, but Chihuahuas have got to be the cutest. Toby's favorite thing to do with a blanket - besides getting it all fluffed to satisfaction - is to "bury" a treat in it! He does this also wth any laundry pile, pillow that has fallen to the floor, the couch cushion, lol, whatever is closest at the time of receipt. It's hilarious! He doesn't do it with food, only treats. So smart and funny!

Please share - those who have posted pictures of their Chis in festive framing! Where did you find the software? I so want to frame up my doggies pics! Adorable!

I hope the extra teeth fall out all by themselves. 6 months is very much still a puppy - I would just give it time and all those fun tug toys and treats others posted. I have heard of many pet owners of various breeds who have experienced the adult teeth coming in before the baby teeth fall out. <3 And the barking - Toby isn't a big barker either - unless placed in certain circumstances. Your pup is still so young - his barking moments will come.

Does anyone elses Chi howl like a Husky, or did Toby just learn how to howl from Rosie, our Husky?
