Newborn Chi's really do need keeping warm, they are just so tiny. Heat pads are more popular than heat lamps these days, and vetbed is fantastic. Make sure you have a roof on the whelping box, and look at getting a portable heater to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. Good luck with your puppies.
