Definitely. I would be worried the most about Odie's ears. I did a search and it seems that it doesn't bother some dogs at all. It said that if you can get them to drink some water during ascent and descent that the swallowing helps clear their ears.

For humans chewing gum can help..maybe bring a chew toy along, it might help.

we've travelled with our little august from germany to the us (in the cabin). he stayed in his bag, but i had the purse on my lap and left it open most of the time so i could pet him. he did so well. no sound. we also put a "dog diaper" on him just in case. but he did all his business at the airports. i also got him a really big chew bone for the trip to keep him entertained in the bag. gave him water and food every once in a while, just not too much. i would travel with him again anytime, so proud <3

I'm just amazed you're allowed to have them in the cabin with you. I recently moved interstate with my Ruby and I am flying home for Christmas tomorrow. I wanted to take her with me but was going to have to check her in as baggage! That would mean dropping her off an hour before my flight and waiting to pick her up at the end and I don't think she would handle that well at all.

so I'm having to leave her down here with a friend for the week. It's going to be really hard for me, I'm going to miss her!

Southwest lets them under the seats IF the carrier you have fits under! They also sell their own carriers for about $45.00. I bought two.

So do US Airways, United, and American. But they charge an arm and a leg.

wow, how did I forget to talk about the ears? I read where some people say dog's ears pop and some people say they don't...just in case, I buy a thing of pnut butter crackers (or something like that) and let her lick pnut butter as we're ascending or descending. and I give water too since pnut butter always makes me so thirsty.
