I don't have anything to contribute but I just wanted to say that I hope all goes well and that Honey is feeling back to normal quickly. I can't wait to get Mylo's over with...I'm going to be a mess!

Can you get her into a crate with the cone on? I didn't need to use a cone with Bonnie. She totally ignored her incision. Sooooo different than the other two chi's who wouldn't leave theirs alone! She has stairs to climb up on the couch, and she slept alot. I had to encourage her to drink. I used honey mixed with pedilyte to prevent dehydration. I syringed that mixture into her a few times. Other than that I think you have eveything planned out. I just let Bonnie do much of what she wanted to. I think she milked the situation to the max. I brought her water and food to the 'bedside'!!! After 3-4 days I told her "ok, no more service, you gotta get up".!

I won't share details of Odie's spay because she had a hard recovery, which isn't the norm. I just wanted to add that I found a heating pad really useful. I put it under blankets in her bed and put it on low (only when I was around) to help keep her temperature up. She loved it, and curled up and went right to sleep.

The idea of a playpen is a really good one, especially when she's still recovering from the anesthetic. If you can find any pure pumpkin or yam, it might be a good idea to have some on hand in case she gets upset tummy from the drugs, which is common.

After Odie had a really good rest, I did wrap her up in a blanket and bring her up with me on the couch to cuddle but when I had to get up I would put her back in her playpen.
