Simcha's way of showing affection seems to be a bit unusual. He will maniacally lick Ruth's hand or mine. When he is in the mood, this can be virtually nonstop for at least a few minutes. It has nothing to do with food residues, as he will lick the back of the hand as readily as the front of the hand.

I find it interesting that he shows no desire to lick our heads or faces. Given his tendency to lick his own private parts, which we discourage whenever we see it, I will admit to being o.k. with that. He is also not a crotch sniffer; and I am happy with that.

So, the QOTD is: "Where does your chi lick you?"

When Amberleah gives Kisses she always go for in the nose. I back away before she can. But her licks on my hands.

My 3, Timmy, Calleigh and Faith lick my hands and legs. I think it's because I have lotion on. My youngest one Faith goes crazy on my husband! She licks his face and his feet!!! Plus they all lick and groom each other like cats do!!!

Jaxx licks our hands like crazy. When hubby comes home he is used to first thing when he sits down that Jaxx is going to give him bunches of hand kisses.

Chica will sometimes lick our hands, but mostly she goes for the face/our cheeks or even our ears, LOL! I would prefer that she not (since she, see my post from today, will put absolutely anything she can, food or non-edible, in her mouth), but her "kisses routine", for lack of a better term, is so stinkin cute that I end up laughing, which only encourages her (in fact, I'm smiling now, just thinking about it). She can be quietly laying on my lap resting, and she will suddenly sit up, cock her head to one side, and begin staring at my cheek or ear. Even if I completely ignore her, the tail will begin wagging wildly and then BOOM!, she swoops in to give kisses (licking). That starts me laughing, which of course only makes her think I must be in need of more kisses. She does this same little routine with my husband and the kids too, and she's done it from the beginning (we adopted her back in April, from a local humane society, and she's approx. now around 3 years old). No kisses for Mama tonight though, since she's not feeling well, but she's snuggled up next to me sleeping, and I'm periodically waking her to give her a tiny bit of honey and encourage her to drink. Darn colitis! (see my post from earlier tonight for more on that).

Ike loves to lick my face and especially my lips, I have a problem with that, don't mind my chin or cheeks, I try to put my head so he can get my lips , but sometimes he just too fast.
