I had checked her Etsy a while ago to see if she was still sewing and there has been nothin new in the shop in a few years. I had her on my old FB account and she had not been active there in some time either.
I hope she is well!

I asked her a while ago why she doesn't sew much since she has so much talent and she said she's too busy being a homemom

In your pics I can see 2 basenjis and one chi. who is your fourth pup?
Thanks again for all of your help. I'm going to keep my eye on sales and coupons as the faux fur is $$.
Happy New Year!

Aww an owl purse sounds very cute! Little coats do too.
My forth pup? You mean the one in my siggy? That's Bella, she
joined us not long ago, a few months, she's around 2 years old.
Happy New Year to you too Dee! I hope it'll be a good, happy and
healthy year for you and your family.

Ahhhh.... Thanks guys. I'm sorry I haven't been popping in. I have packed up all of my seeing stuff until we move into the new house. I'm you g to have an awesome sewing room when we get it all finished. Unfortunately also, my mom passed away in feb. of this year. I lost my best friend. It was very tough and I still miss her so much. Thank goodness I still have my Dad, and he is doing great! I just feel that it is important for me to spend as much time with him as I can. Time is way to short. He is having a great time overseeing the new house remodel. He was in home development for years so its nice to have someone help with all of that, and I think it's good for him since my mom passed. He keeps very busy. You would never think the man is 83 yrs old. My gosh he gets around better than I do lol!! Anyway I hope to pop in more often. I promise. And thank you for all of the kind words. I missed you guys too
Lori

Sorry to hear that Lori. -hugs-
I can't add a whole lot on the actual sewing part of making one of these beds but I can comment on the fur. I've made a few fursuits (animal costumes essentially) and the fur you use is one of the most important parts. I would recommend Mendel's punky muppet fur, I've loved working with it. Here's a link.
MENDEL'S - LONGER FAKE FURS!
This is what it looks like on a costume. I assume it would make a nice bed too, it is quite soft.
I tried to use cheap fur once. Never again. I shelled out a lot for enough fur to make this suit but it is very soft, lovely and really makes the look. The cheap fur looks and feels cheap, is almost see through on the backing (although all white is sort of that way, I fixed it by using white foam this time rather than green) and it is hard to work with. It also wears out fast.
This stuff I am hoping will last forever and keep my suit pretty for a long time.

I have no idea how easy they would be to make, but to my untrained eye, they at least seem to have a pretty simple construction. Out of curiosity, I googled "how to make a snuggle sack for dogs," and got a lot of results, even videos, so once you've chosen the faux-fur material, there's lots of guidance out there on how to make them.
I can tell you for sure, though, that Butterbean usually prefers her TD blankets over others. They're just so soft! I also like the way the Clouded Leopard pattern of her trundle bed goes with her brindle coat. After a long walk on a cold night, I love to warm her up by bundling her in the snuggle sack and holding her like that. She looks so snug and comfy!
