One of Butterbean's favorite things to do is to climb up on me when I'm lying down and sit on my stomach or chest. When she does this, she gets the funniest look on her face (staring off into the middle distance), and points her ears straight back. I don't mean she lays them back flat like when she's warning another dog to give her some space; they stick out and sort of resemble the bill of a backward-turned baseball cap. It's a funny little look, and I was just curious if any of your chis do that with their ears, and what it might mean.

my chi puts his ears back when greeting other people and excited. I think it's a sort of submissive behavior like of respect towards whom ever he is greeting and to say I'm harmless I just want to say hi kinda thing.

He also does it though when he's nervous but his body language differs.

What you're describing sounds sort of like what Tango does. It's a very relaxed posture, he's not holding his ears erect, his eyes get this almost glazed look in them, and will often close and open again in slow motion.

I associate that demeanor with being comfortable, relaxed, just chilling out....very unlike his typical hyper behavior. My roommate's favorite nickname for Tango is Pinball, if that gives you any indication of what he's usually like lol!

For some reason every time I take Sergei's pic he puts his ears back and always ends up looking like a polar Bear lol
