Hi ladies, ive got a little question, im a bit confused really.

Honey poo'd at my moms house tonight, this is the 3rd time in 4 visits that she has done this. She has no reason to feel scared there, she loves her Nana. We even lived with my mom for 2 months late last year and there were no pooping incidents!

She is outside trained and doesnt have any trouble when we go visiting at other peoples houses.

Honey had a walk earlier in the day where she poo'd, then I made sure she had an hours walk before we went to my moms, and i watched her pee and poo (quite a big one!) on this walk. Half an hour later, she did this poo at my moms!

I just dont get why she is feeling the need to poo there? Her accidents have been cleaned with enzymatic cleaner, very well (moms a neat freak ) so she cant be smelling anything from previous times.

She will be on leash when we go there in future to prevent this happening again, but i just wondered if anybody had any ideas as to why shes doing it?

Maybe its excited poop? Dexter has this when he's extremely happy to be somewhere. He even peed on the couch when KC came back from being gone for a night and day

Yeah it could be, although she is a lot more excited when we go to my sisters say, and she doesn't poop there.

I agree that she could be excited. I know that my aunts dog pees when he sees us as he is very excited.

We have recently been taking Simcha to the local dog park, which he truly enjoys. (The dog park has a 'small dogs' section, which allows him to run around with the really big dogs, which are on the other side of the fence - he still goes crazy and loves the interaction, while Ruth and I are not worried about his being trampled because of his extreme enthusiasm).

The fenced in area and the path leading up to it are obviously filled with the scent of many dogs. Not surprisingly, Simcha will lift his leg many, many times to add his scent. More surprisingly, he is almost always stimulated to poop in the dog park. It appears that something about the multitude of dog scents triggers this action as well.
