Great answers and thank you for the suggestions. Both are between 9 and 10 pounds, but one is quite tall so he is probably only a lb overweight. I'm going to stick to my guns and maybe rotate in some of the lower calorie options as well. They love the NV wet food so Im going to check out the calories on that.

I have one of those - always looking for food!!

Angel is around 8.5-9lbs. I feed him Wellness Core and THK Embark. He gets 1/8 cup 2 times a day. In-between he gets carrots, green beans, low fat cottage cheese, apples, etc. I have also started giving him a snack at mid-day, but it is part of his overall daily allowance! I feel bad when I look at his dish and see about 12 pieces of kibble! But I had a chi that was around 12lbs, so I stay strong!

Check out Dog Food Reviews and Ratings | Dog Food Advisor. Lots of good info there. You can also sign up for recall alerts.

I use non calorie veggies to fill Izzy up...green beans, broccoli or green peppers....they also provide the added bonus of fiber to help with preventing anal gland impaction...

Some pups just love food.......I have to say I offer carefully chosen treats...green beans are great Rico loves those and baby carrots...apple..whatever...today he had some butternut squash...I used to feed Orijen senior during the really cold months because his big walkies don't happen the usual way when the streets are icey...
