My lhasa Tootsie does this but only when hubby comes home from work. She is a daddy's girl. I let her out 10 mins before he is due back, this seems to be working for now, lol

My sister's pit/lab mix does this all the time when she sees my husband. She doesn't do it with everyone, but when my sister comes over he always has to meet her outside so she will pee outside instead of in the house. Kind of annoying. A trainer said that it is a confidence issue.

Cooper used to do this too. His was submissive peeing, so we fixed it by every time we approached him we would kneel down to appear 'less threatening'. It worked. If we approached him standing he would get so excited and intimidated he would pee again. He has always been a very submissive dog though so it didn't suprise me to learn his was submissive peeing hehe. I think a lot of chis do this as babies but grow out of it.

This is indeed 'submissive' urination. The only cure, is to ignore the dog until he/she is calm, and then maybe squat down, sit down, and get to the dogs level as much as possible. Do NOT punsh, as this is a behavior they really can't help. Can take awhile to stop this though. Maybe have the pup confined to the kitchen, so puddles can be wiped up easily!
