So Forrest was the runt of the litter, he is also a fussy eater and only likes his dry food so not been able to feed him up with high calorie foods.

He is so very underweight. He is active, his coat is in good condition so he seems healthy and was vet checked before and they said he just needs to work on getting his weight up.. but that was a while ago.

He is 19 weeks old and weighs 2 pounds but his waist is tiny and you can see all his ribs and he looks very very underweight.

He has a vet appointment on Wednesday but now I am worrying they are going to say that he is really unhealthy and he will end up having awful problems or something

I am hoping the vet will be able to give some kind of supplement that he can have on his food or something to get his weight up?

While he seems healthy and he certainly isn't lethargic or anything of the sort I can't help worrying that he will have a short life expectancy or something

Does anyone have any positive stories about the runt suddenly filling out?

What have you tried adding to his food? Scrambled egg made with coconut oil would be a good option. Will he accept anything else with his food? Have you tried offering him puppy formula/supplement?

What food is he eating currently?

If he is truly underweight, you will want to work to add healthy weight to him. Protein in particular would be good for him.

p.s Fizzy and Kirby's mum-all of your babies are stunners but William is the one who won my heart! There is something so sweet about his face!

He was very poorly as a tiny puppy so he spent lots of 'one-to-one' time with me so he is one special little lad

Hi.. he has puppy food.. burns which is a great brand.

He doesn't like any other food. He doesn't like Tuna, cheese, raw meat nothing. I think his overbite makes it so hard for him that he just eats what he is used to eating.

I am hoping the vet will prescribe a supplement for him. He won't drink the puppy formula I got him either.

His over bite is quite severe by the looks of it but he does eat 4 small meals a day and he is peeing and pooing fine so I know he is getting lots down him.

Our vet gave me a supplement for Ike, had to squirt in his mouth every morning, and it build up his appetite. It smelled just like liver, he hated it but it worked and I can't remember the name of it. So ask your vet.
