Default Chihuahua in Wales Rescue ~ Needs Home!

Hi all,
a friend has just told me about a male Chihuahua called "Quarry" in a rescue called Many Tears in Wales that needs a home. Just in case anyone is looking and can get to the kennels...no doubt he will be snapped up!

Link below, you'll need to scroll down to see him

Hopefully he will go to someone who genuinely loves the breed and not just looking for a fashion accessory...

Oh he looks a real handsome guy! Why don't people who decide they don't want their dogs contact the breeder again if they can, I would hate for one of mine to end up in a rescue centre.

Did you see all of those little designer puppies needing homes too.... poor darlings!

Yes, you would think they would. The only reason I guess you wouldn't do so is if you are unhappy with them (breeder) since you bought your puppy.

It is tragic the number of small dogs and deliberate designer crossbreeds being churned out
So many will ultimately end up in rescue centres...

he is lovely but i wouldnt want another dog as i dont want lexi to feel left out, at the moment she has my undivided attention. although i do think some of these rescue homes ask a bit much for dogs when you are doing the great thing by rehoming it and giving it a loving home (hopefully). my mother in law had a dog from one of these rescue places and it cost over £200 which in all fairness she has gave him a lovely home. i know they need to cover some costs but its better than putting them to sleep and giving them a chance of life.

While people might consider themselves to be doing a "great thing" by re-homing a rescue dog, I don't think it is unreasonable the adoption fees asked for by most rescues. While there is the odd dodgy rescue, most work really hard and generally at a constant "loss" when they re-home.

I have never come accross a rescue that could survive on the donations it receives from it's animals. All have relied on legacies and a massive amount of fund raising by volunteers, whether running charity shops, dog shows, car boot sales etc etc.

A good rescue will neuter, microchip, worm, flea and spend time assessing the dogs character. if it has health issues, it will sort them out where possible. Some even continue to pay vet bills for that animals lifetime if it has a serious ongoing condition.

Even with all the excellent work dog rescues do, thousands of dogs still die in pounds and some rescues every year..the old, the ill, the less cute ones
As always too many dogs being bred, too few lifetime homes...

Just my thoughts
