Exclamation I found a shelter with tons!

My gosh I've been so blind!!! Here I thought and assumed there were no shelters around here with any type of dog under 40 lbs! Well I stumbled across a shelter about an hour away from me, with about 8 or 9 chihuahuas, and chi crosses!!! There are so many, from ages 1 -6! I wish I could adopt them all, but am not ready for another, and they are $475 to adopt (which is more than I spent buying my pooch as a pup!!)

I am bookmarking their website, and hoping that in the near future I can adopt from them, I just wish I could take them all

Thats what I thought too, but as I read, they are non-profit and they go home with spay/ neuter, grooming, worming, complete health check of heartworm and any other disease, updated shots, etc...so I guess in the end it may be a little less.. I think it could be a little negotiable. We'll see when I'm ready I guess, I just wish that time was now!!

A lot of those places will negotiate the rehoming fee for the right people. The key is 'right people'.. and sometimes thier idea of right people is quite odd. :/

I'm in the midwest and we have an ever changing population of cute small dogs in our shelter. Our city just built a new, huge animal shelter to hopefully get more dogs adopted. Chi's are a dime a dozen here. Something like 3500 in our city alone, and those are the registered ones with license! I'm sure there are many, many more who don't get their dogs licensed.

Here's the link to our shelter and check out all the cuties there ....
