Won't they fix that beforehand? I know when I adopted Poppet from our shelter, he had some medical conditions but they fixed him based on his adoptability and just tacked the surgery cost onto his adoption fee.

I just hate the thought of the little chi being in discomfort or pain. I'd look into her myself if my finances were in better shape and I hadn't already reached my legal limit. (we have a restriction of 3 dogs per household in my county to try and keep down hoarders; don't know about Paulding though)
