Exclamation California has too many chihuahuas

http://video.ap.org/?f=1119853&pid=2...vfePCS_D6NbV36

The above link goes to an ***ociated Press video about how the state of California has more chihuahuas than they can handle. If you know anyone in the West Coast who wants a new fur friend, encourage them to adopt!

[Edit] Interesting filter. Next time I'll just say AP.

I'll keep that in mind. I have a cousin in California.
LOL, those kinds of filters have gotten rather popular lately.

there are tons of chi's in our los angeles area shelters. it has a lot to do with the very high mexican/latino population - the dogs breed and breed and breed and overpopulate and run around the streets. it's awful. you can literally walk into any socal shelter and have your pick of 100s of chi's. southern california people also seem to be obsessed with small dogs and carrying them about in purses. i adopted both my chis from the la city shelters - they're wonderful dogs

Sadly a taste of things to come in the UK

It's Staffies at the moment here, the shelters are full of them everywhere you turn and many are long term, the unlucky ones very short term if you get my drift in some places

Lovely to hear you adopted your dogs, it used to be nigh on impossible to adopt a Chihuahua here in the UK, especially a younger one, now they are cropping up in general dog rescues, they are also seeing a lot of Chi crosses. It's so sad...And going to get a lot worse.
