Hi! I'm really new to this forum, so I hope its ok I'm posting this so soon!! I have two adorable Chihuahuas that I'm fostering, that were rescued from the shelter, and both need furever homes! Once they are adopted I'll rescue two more, so if you adopt one of them, you help save a dog from a kill shelter, but without all the unknowns.

They are the cuties in my signature pictures. The one on the left is Lefty Jr (aka LJ) he's supposed to be 10 years old but he acts like he's a pup. The one on the right is Shaq he is 6 years old and on the quiet & shy side. Both are neutered, had dentals, vaccinations, etc. If you know of anyone looking to adopt within driving distance of Los Angeles please let them know about them! I'd drive up to 6 hrs to check out the right home - so San Francisco to San Diego, out to Las Vegas aprox.

I can't believe someone would dump a 10 year old dog at a shelter. What is wrong with people. I hope you can find him a loving home. One that understands the special needs of older dogs.

Ive read recently there are hundreds of chihuahuas in rescue in California, such a shame!

Sadly, the #s are many thousands just in Los Angeles...

This was in the LA Times: "In 2009 so far, more than 4,700 Chihuahuas have entered our city's shelter system -- over 1,000 more than entered in 2008."

It totally breaks my heart. No creature should be disposable. It's a good thing I no longer live in LA or I'd be the lady down the street that is hording all the little dogs.

As is I am well on my way with two Chi's and to cats.... 3 of which are rescues...
