Rescue sale was a success!
We hosted a Rescue Yard Sale today at the boarding kennel. It was only for today...but of course, that means we've spent the last 3 weeks getting donations of items and then starting Thursday, hours getting stuff cleaned and priced. Lots of work so I was really hoping it would be a monetary success because we have loads coming weekly. All together we raised about $700 ($300 to Chi Rescue and $400 to All Breed Rescue because they have several special needs dogs right now and I don't) and took several applications for dogs currently in foster care. If all the apps pass, we found home for 2 of the 3 pups we had here plus a few more that we just had up in pictures. I received 5 applications for Chi rescues and since I have 2 coming tomorrow, that's good. Looks like I'll be busy screening home and verifying references soon while I'm evaluating the new dogs.
I'm so totally exhausted and my feet are killing me. I don't want to move for 24 hours. I even rescheduled my Mother's Day with my kids til next week cause I'm so tired. However, it was sooo worth it to know that we raised enough to fully, routine vet 5 dogs. Whoo Hooo!
