Hi Everyone
My friend called me today to tell me she'd been up to our local rescue centre, its actually a farm aswell as a rescue sanctury as they call themselves they rescue anything from horses to gerbils..
Anyway there are 2 LC Puppies in there.. litter mates one Black and Tan one Red (ginger) I went up today but couldn't see them so have called and spoken to one of the girls (slightly snooty but whatever). My friend saw them on Thursday and said if she wasn't pregnant she would have scooped them up and taken then home.
Basically the and i use the term extremely lightly BREEDER decided now that she didn't want them.. believes that Chihuahuas are house dogs and should never ever leave the home. They are scared of everything, snappy yappy, have never met anyone but their mum and the *cough cough* Breeder. They are 5 months old (ish)
They've said that they are going to need extensive socialisation which they are going to do their and apparently are in foster with their head of care at the moment and in a few weeks they'll know what sort of home they want them to go to (children, no children etc etc).
I asked if they'd called the Breed Club as im sure they would help and they said no we'll rehome them alone (??!) but im sure they have lists of people wanting to rehome puppies like these. Anyway.. i have the details and if anyone is interested im happy to send you the website to keep an eye on they said they will be up in the next 2 weeks at the earliest after extensive assessment.
They think it will be a no child home but i dont know.
I've never visited a shelter before and i cried my eyes out. Its not like Kennels you see on the TV there.. they're in these rooms alone that join onto the other dogs with massive windows, soft beds.. newspaper toilet areas, plenty of food and drink and an onsite vet. They have an isolation area for the sick ones.. but it nearlly killed me when i walked past they all started barking and this one dog jumped up and was scratching the window as if to say help me.. i couldn't cope and had to go home
Oh the Rescue Centre is in Kent
Ill keep an eye on the web too if it pops up then ill paste the link!!
