Default Puppies for Rehoming.. very sad.

Hi Everyone

My friend called me today to tell me she'd been up to our local rescue centre, its actually a farm aswell as a rescue sanctury as they call themselves they rescue anything from horses to gerbils..

Anyway there are 2 LC Puppies in there.. litter mates one Black and Tan one Red (ginger) I went up today but couldn't see them so have called and spoken to one of the girls (slightly snooty but whatever). My friend saw them on Thursday and said if she wasn't pregnant she would have scooped them up and taken then home.

Basically the and i use the term extremely lightly BREEDER decided now that she didn't want them.. believes that Chihuahuas are house dogs and should never ever leave the home. They are scared of everything, snappy yappy, have never met anyone but their mum and the *cough cough* Breeder. They are 5 months old (ish)

They've said that they are going to need extensive socialisation which they are going to do their and apparently are in foster with their head of care at the moment and in a few weeks they'll know what sort of home they want them to go to (children, no children etc etc).

I asked if they'd called the Breed Club as im sure they would help and they said no we'll rehome them alone (??!) but im sure they have lists of people wanting to rehome puppies like these. Anyway.. i have the details and if anyone is interested im happy to send you the website to keep an eye on they said they will be up in the next 2 weeks at the earliest after extensive assessment.

They think it will be a no child home but i dont know.

I've never visited a shelter before and i cried my eyes out. Its not like Kennels you see on the TV there.. they're in these rooms alone that join onto the other dogs with massive windows, soft beds.. newspaper toilet areas, plenty of food and drink and an onsite vet. They have an isolation area for the sick ones.. but it nearlly killed me when i walked past they all started barking and this one dog jumped up and was scratching the window as if to say help me.. i couldn't cope and had to go home

Oh the Rescue Centre is in Kent

Ill keep an eye on the web too if it pops up then ill paste the link!!

Oh how sad,i hope somebody on here takes them.(fingers crossed )I used to go to Wood Green animal shelter they have an open day every year, but like you it broke my heart, there's always 1 dog that stands out from the rest that you would love to have, then go home and think about him/her all night.I don't go now too painful

Me too... my friend said they were lovely to look at just very very scared. This is actually a really nice place the dogs were all clean and well fed and they have volunteers come in and walk them all daily and do dog training with them. The cats had so much room i couldn't believe it!!

Oh i forgot to say they dont let the dogs go anywhere without being spayed/neutered, micro chipped and fully vaccinated, flead and wormed.

There is a set donation which is between £50 to £215

Awww so sad. I hope they find somewhere together.

Poor little things, at least they are getting the right care they need there and hopefully will find the perfect forever home x

Oh gosh that is so damn sad. My heart breaks when I hear stuff like this. I'm really soft- hearted too Sarah and have crying fits like you when dealing with his kind of thing. It does my head in. I really hope someone takes them in!

I'll PM you.. they aren't ready yet and won't be advertised for a few weeks yet, they dont know what sort of home they will let them go to and are very particular.. they wouldn't even talk to the Chi club as i'm sure they have loads of suitable people for these babies. They aren't even sure if they'll let them go to a home with other dogs yet.. but i'll pm you the details anyway to keep and eye on their website

You're near Hastings right?? Conveniently its just off hte A21
