Whenever I have gotten a dog it has always been a puppy from a breeder. I was searching around the internet for a chihuahua puppy when I came across the ad for Lola. She was a 17 month old chihuahua in a shelter in Arkansas. I fell in love with her instantly. My biggest concern getting a chihuahua was that it would be good with people and with my nne year old daschunds and two kitties. She was rescued from a backyard breeder. She had coccidia a few types of mange and other issues from not being fed and not being exposed to sun. I picked her up on Saturday and she is wonderful she always wants to be on my lap she sleeps in my bed and the benefits of an older dog is she needs to go to the bathroom left so potty training is going well as long as I keep a close eye one her but since she never leaves my side that is easy .Shje is small under three pounds I was originally told she was 5 pounds then 4. She is great with my dogs and cats barely even knows they exist. When people approach her she gets nervous and backs away but once they pick her up she is great. I could nt be more thrilled it feels so special to be able to give her a loving home since her start was so difficult.
Welcome to cp, happy you found such a sweet little girl in need of a good home. You said you got her in Arkansas, do you live in AR? I do, I'm in NW AR.
