We were in PetSmart a few months back and they happened to be hosting a Chihuahua adoption day. The rescue group is called "Because of You Chihuahua Rescue" (BOYCR) in Edmond, Oklahoma. I wrote them a check that day and have been sending them money ever since. They're a small organization (actually run out of one woman's house) but they have a lot of foster parents.

Ironically, I found a Chi on their website that I thought would be a perfect companion for my boss's chi (who I'm responsible for her having--my daughter's friend found the Chi and I posted it here at work as needing a good home and my boss decided it was time for her to have a dog!). My boss kept talking about getting a companion for her Chi so I started looking (sooner than she thought she wanted!) on the BOYCR website and found an adorable little Chi named Summer. Within a week, she had adopted her (this was about a month ago). Her girls get along fabulously and they couldn't have a better home! My boss said that the lady who runs the organization was a HUGE help to her--Summer had a couple of health problems. They have pretty strict rules regarding who can adopt and they do a home visit as part of the decision making process. I think they do great work!

That is so awesome! I think a lot of times chi's get forgotten at shelters etc because some get so scared and nippy at the shelters.

I'm sure you're right. Chihuahua temperment is very different from most other breeds and someone who doesn't know that might not realize that how a Chihuahua is behaving is actually typical Chihuahua behavior--I don't think they behave and react like most other breeds.
