rescued 'pedigree' but now have doubts?
Hi, I'm a proud owner of a stunning longhaired chihuahua, myself and partner adore him. We decided we'd like another but this time to rehome/rescue one. After putting a few posts on a few dogsites, we had 2 scams, and another woman who I reported to RSPCA (she was selling a very ill 10month old chi who had suffered a miscarriage and had NEVER seen a vet, this dog was rehomed by a friend of mine and is now on the mend). After all this we were put-off, then a lady contacted us saying she was rehoming her chi who was 5mths old due to her daughters allergy. When we went to collect the dog, we noticed she had many rabbits, so an allergy was unlikely, the dog was outside, with an open shed door, so we're guessing Lola(the pup) had been kept in there. The woman shouted and screamed when the dog did not want to come in, I stepped over and she ran into my arms tail wagging-I was then smitten and rehomed the poor thing! Her tummy was swollen, after worming treatment it went down, she has lots of 'issues' but is responding fantastically to training already and has largely improved. The pedigree I was given does not 'seem right' to me, Lola seems a little 'crazy' compared to my chi and sometimes doesn't look chihuahua. She's muscular in the body, has big paws, does large amounts of 'toileting' and her face/eyes seem bigger. I've added a photo, what does everyone think?? Was I scammed into getting a chi cross or is she a standard deer head chi? I am slightly peeved and the old owner is not answering my calls and emails, I would like another opinion so I can train her better. I think she has miniature pinscher or jack russell in her?
