I volunteer with my local Humane Society. It is now a no kill shelter

I volunteer in the shelter with the dogs and cats, and in the vet clinic area sterilizing the surgical tools and I get to watch some spay and neuter surgeries. And I also help run the off site adoptions at various places in town on the weekends. Its so rewarding to think that I even have a small part in helping animals and brightening up their day in any way I possibly can. I love every moment of it. Volunteers are ALWAYS needed and so I surely encourage everyone to volunteer. And also donate, even if you can't give money, many shelters need blankets, towels, newspapers, dog bowls, leashes, and even dog and cat treats. When you get a new bed spread, donate your old one. Things like that really make a big difference. And many shelters are not city funded. So perhaps doing a fundraiser would be great too

my mother sells chocolate bars at work for 1 dollar each and gives the profit to the humane society. I have never fostered as my circumstances do not allow it. But perhaps in the future I can, I would love to!
