Default Chihuahua needs home!!

Hi, my name is Jana. I'm a 20 year old college student living in Murray, Kentucky. This message may seem completely far fetched, but I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. I volunteer at a local animal shelter. On Thursday night, some person dropped off a little chihuahua mix female dog. All Friday, nobody could catch her because she was too terrified. When I showed up around noon, the dog came straight up to me. We took her to a pen, and she immediately fell asleep in my lap for two hours. It is breaking my heart. My apartment does not allow animals, but I just can't bear the thought of the sweet dog being euthanize. I'm desperate. I do not undertand this website yet, so I was wondering if you could help me get my message out. I'd love to find this sweet girl a forever home so that she can live the life she deserves! Thank you!

How wonderful of you to volunteer at a shelter!! Your story really touched (and broke) my heart. I am nowhere near KY (and we have our city's legal limit of dogs now anyway, 3 of whom are rescues from local shelters), so I can't help unfortunately, but I am going to be praying for this precious girl. I hope she finds a loving furever home!!

I wish I could help but I am in Pennsylvania. I applaud you for volunteering and for trying to hard to help this poor frightened little one. Is there a rescue or a no kill shelter nearby that might be able to help? It sounds like she is a wonderful little one just scared. I do wish there was some way you could have her since you seem so fond of each other. I will be praying for both of you. Please stay around and keep us posted.

Jana, put an add in the paper! It's only a couple of dollars. Screen the people for the best fit. You shouldn't have a problem finding a home for this dog. Small dogs, chis are in high demand.

I am so blessed and amazed by the responses I have received! I also have some amazing news! The mayor of the nearest city also got involved in this sweet dog's story, and she has found her forever home! I have never been so excited or happy! All of you guys are such wonderful people, and I want to say thank you so much! I appreciate this help more than you'll ever know, and I know she does, too!

This is wonderful news! Thank you so much for helping her. I hope you will be able to keep up with her. Since she was so skittish and bonded to you so quickly maybe you can help her acclimate to her new family? I wish you both all the best.
