I am really wanting to show Nikolai but his nose looks so long but then a lot of people on here have said that their chis had noses that looked long and then later they looked shorter so what is the opinion on Nikolai?

Hi -I liked the last photo so much they look so sweet together what a good pic-Its hard to tell on the pics- but for me from what I can tell -I would like a deeper stop and a shorter muzzle - that is only a fleeting opion as I cannot see him properly and the photo angles can make things look different .I find it very difficult to give opions from photos .Im not an expert .just letting you know my preferences in what I like to look for in my chis. Have fun with him anyway -before you start to show-go to some shows see what is in the ring -talk to some breeders- many can be friendly and very informative .You can find it interesting and have a nice day to boot .Good luck.

He's really an adorable boy, I love his markings!

How old is he? It's hard to tell just how good they will do until they are fully mature.

Right now he looks like he does have a little long of a nose with more of a slope than defined stop, but his body looks good and it is really hard to tell with pictures. The standard describes a moderately short nose and most judges all have a different opinion about what moderately short means. I know a little chi who got his championship pretty early, he did really well at some shows and didn't even get a nod at others, he had a very short muzzle and some judges found it to be too short, wanted a longer one. You can always try it anyway and see how you like it. If you find conformation showing isn't for you there are many other titles you can go for such as obedience, agility, and canine good citizen. Just have fun.
