Post Showing

Hi... does anyone show Chi's - AKC?
Thinking about showing my boy Cherokee, his dad is Champion and Cherokee's 5 gen. has 30 CH
What should I do at first and all. I have never showed before and not sure how to start. I'm not really looking into big in showing but just something for Cherokee and I could try out and to see if Cherokee has the chances. He's great, smart boy.. I have taught him sit, paw, down and working on stand... we may go to the training class and hopefully one of the trainers could put us in right place.
Hope to hear from any of you!
Thanks!

first find a kennel club in your area and call them.they will tell you who is putting on handling classes. do you have some side standing pic of your boy?

Hi, I am going to kennel club training class... they have 4 classes - conformation, basic obedience, rally and open obedience.
I have side pic when he was only 10 wks old, I'll try get some pics in the class.. my other pics are of him laying down or not of whole side of him.
Start with basic class? first and then conformation?
Thanks!

Sorry can't help but have just taken a little look at his pic on your link...wow he is one cutesy litttle guy. He deserves to win something just for his fab facial markings

depends if you are going to do conformation shows then u dont really want to teach him sits or downs as he will need to stand - i just do conformation classes with B and have done since we started training

He pretty much knows sit, paw, down and stand and don't have problem with him not wanted to stand, he stands the most..
Can't wait for tomorrow evening.
