I know people do that. Shoot, I know of people who dyed their dogs (standard poodles) so that they would be inky black. What a bunch of hogwash in my opinion.
If Bryco has lighter pigment, then so be it. That is how he is. He should win on his own merit. I think you also have to consider future generations.... if people know that a dog has lighter pigment, for example, they will choose a bitch that has dark dark pigment in order to offset the fault. It's all about improving on each generation.
