I made myself go to ringcraft tonight knowing I was at the BCC this weekend, I have been spending time with Red, trying to get his confidence up and today he was brilliant.
Right from entering the doors I noticed a difference, Red was all eager to march right in there, his whole demeaner was different.
His confidence oozed and I wondered how long it would last. Red wanted to nosey every thing and every dog that came near him, A lovely woman with two young Caine Terriers sat next to me and when one went to sniff Red, Red went for it..
So time to line up, Jake stood lovely, never moved and looked ... "The Man" when it came to the table I expected the usual banana or lean back stance.. but... nope he stood great while Marion looked over him. Then we did our little show and Red loved it. He trotted up straight as ever and when we came to the end of the mat he stood great.
Usually his tail is wrapped up between his legs, his ears are down and he holds a sad lost expression.. Today his ears were up, eyes were alert and his tail though not up and curled was relaxed and about half way up...
The difference came so quick, it was only last week he was collasping on the table as soon as Marion approached him. This week he's a different dog.
I still find it hard to get him all excited and alert on the floor when I want him to free stack but he's getting better.
What a great evening it was...

UNTIL WART HOG got back to the house..
