Default Linebreeding

Does linebreeding go on this forum or the breeder forum? Unless you breed like to like you wont get "type". And then you still might not unless you know what "type" is behind the dogs.

how can line breeding go on in a forum lmao If you mean so people practice line breeding for "type" setting purposes then I'm sure some do, both my dogs are line bred one was show quality one I am currently unsure of so I'm giving him a couple more months as his face seems to be maturing n better than I originally thought . Plus instead of making irrelevent stupid posts why not reply to an exhisting one or alternatively attempt to educate the public. Plus you dont just need 40 posts to be in the breeders forum you also need to state a reason why.

Tom, I line bred with my Shih Tzu's and I intend to do so with my Chi's. I have the foundation bloodlines I want to start with picked out finally. That's been a long slow process and line breeding itself is tricky if you care about your results because you do have to watch out for too much inbreeding which will ultimately weaken your bloodline. What's best, of course, is if you can work with another kennel that is breeding for the same type or if you can have an endless supply of cash to build up your foundation stock.

Tinker, actually it is best to start with 2 or 3 lines. Then when you need to outcross you can outcross into your own "other" bloodline.

Well, I found what worked for me was to have my own bloodlines and a friend with a kennel with excellent dogs. Since we both started with two bloodlines and expanded later that gave us 6 bloodlines to work with. I probably won't be that lucky again as I don't have and friends that show breed chi's.

Default I am linebreeding

Hi . I am new to the forum.

I am just now getting into Chihuahua breeding and showing. My female and the male I bred her to (Ch Ouachitah's First Knight) are both line bred to Ch Ouachitah Beau Chiene and his brother Ch Ouachitah Kodiak. My mentors and I think this breeding will produce some nice puppies. I hope so as I am planning on keeping some and showing them.

Linebreeding can produce some strong characteristics that the dog is then more likely to pass down to their offspring. Just as long as these are good characteristics

My dog "Zeal's Black Knight Warrior Storm" comes from the Ouachitah line and you can tell that him and your Ch Ouachitah's First Knight are related. I totally believe in line breeding and think it is awesome when it works as intended. I also believe if you have several good lines and breed you will have puppies that will very beautiful, well tempered with good confirmation.
