As many of you know, Elvis and his fur brothers are being treated for mange by the vet, who assured me that people can't get it. Well, THEY CAN and I did. I am the itchiest furkid mom in the world at this point. I went to the doctor, she gave me a lotion to put on. I'm still itchy. Any ideas what to do until it starts working?

wow i have never heard of that....would calamine(sp?) lotion help?

I don't know. I haven't tried it yet. Elvis sleeps in my hair all cuddled up to me, so it's not that surprising I got it but WOW! Itchy!

Oh man that IS unique...what about an oatmeal bath? Aveeno sells one that I used with hubby when get got shingles.

oh yeah aveeno is great. at the nursing home a lady used the aveeno for her shingles too

So sorry to hear about that! I would definately try the aveeno!

I can't do much else until tomorrow morning when I shower off the medicene the doctor gave me. Hopefully it's going to be MUCH better by then. Thanks for the advise... I'll try the aveeno oatmeal bath and calamine tomorrow if I can find a place open to get it.

Aveeno baths are great! I had chicken pox when I was 12, and I lived in Aveeno baths for the week!

Good luck, that sounds horrible.
