Default Social services

I have heard today that I am going to be assessed by social services for adaptations I might need around my home to help me with my hearing problems and mobility problems.

I am really pleased with my new housing association, theyre getting me all sorts of help and advice, and it is them who have helped me get this.

So I am pleased, anything that can help make my life easier to cope with cant be bad eh!

That's really wonderful! It's really hard sometimes to get help. Seems the more you need it the harder it is to get too.

Thank you both, it does seem the more you need it the harder it is to get it.
I know of someone who cant move out of an armchair alone, not even to go to the loo, has kideny failure, severe arhtirits, heart failure, eyesight problems, hearing problems, and has been told she ISNT poorly enough to be given a nursing home placement! I wonder how ill you need to be these days! She gets a little help, carers three times a day and meals on wheels, but it really isnt enough for her, she regularily falls and is often on the floor for hours waiting to be helped up.

I havent had any help in three years since my troubles began, so it will be wonderfull to have my life made easier.

Then again I know someone who had an assessment done, got all this equipment, raised loo seats, bath seats, thick handeld cutlery, walking frames with trays on, and it all sits in the garage cos "it gets in the way!"
