I hope that everyone has had a great Christmas with your fur-babies!

I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with a nose job? Family, friends or even you? I have really hated my nose, ever since i was 10. It has a bump on it that i really really cant stand.
My parents have agreed that, when im old enough, they will look into having plastic surgery. You have no idea how much confidence this would give me.

Does anyone have any info about the place they went, what the operation was like, how they felt after (sick or nausous? << Sp?!) ?

oh wow. i was considering one too but not for the look. sometimes its hard for me to breathe and thats because the shape of the nose. my bf agrees on it too since u can hear it in the voice. my mom wanted me to get it a couple yrs ago but i held it off after seeing someone have it in the office when i was going for a checkup. i think what they do is first examine ur nose to see what shape you want and how much to cut off. im pretty sure they give u numbing shots so u dont feel the pain and i know u end up with a bandaged nose at the end which will take a couple weeks to heal

well she was all bandaged up LOL...and i didn't want to go through having a bandage for a long time with a huge bruise and swollen face. depending on how quick of a healer you are is how long it'll take for all that go away unless you have the ability to stay home without going out

Hey sophie...I too would love a nose job!
Last year when I turned 18 I started seriously looking into it as I was of age and had come into a bit of money. Bafter doing lots of research and joining forums ect I decided I would wait. I assumed I could get rhinoplasty for around £3500 and just go somewhere like the hospital group but after reading up I realised this wouldnt be the best idea. Alot of people I met on the forums didnt have good things to say about places like transform and the hospital group but EVERYONE raved on about a particular harly street surgeon. I saw pictures of his work and he was amazing!!The drawback..prices where around £6000.So I have decided to wait until I can afford to go to him. As much as I hate my nose...I couldnt risk cheaper surgery which could potentially make me look even worse!!xXx

ive had 2, i broke my nose as a child and the doctor insisted it was not broken but it was. i enquired at the doctors and went on the nhs. the surgeon told me that as i was having it done on the nhs that it will not be perfect as im not rich and famous lol (but he was serious). to me it should not make a difference if your paying or not the job should still be the same. anyway i was so exvited the first time when i took the cast off but extremely gutted when it looked the same so on a check up withe hospital the doctor also said it was not a good job and he will do the next one so i agrred as he was an extremely well know surgeon. went through the pain of having it done the second time and now its even worse as he has taken too much of the bone away and now i will always have marks on my nose which say it usually dissapears after 2 years but it hasnt. i wish i had paid to go private in the first place and them do a good job. find out about the doctor first and if anyone you know has used them x

I think this may have happened to me. As a kid I always played forward for soccer (aka football- just not in North America ). In grade 4 I got smoked in the nose by the ball (there was a grade 6 as a goalie). It instantly bled EVERYWHERE and wouldn't stop for probably two hours. I had to throw out my jacket and my shirt- even though I had tons of tissue and a towel. Anyways... went to the doctor and he said it was *extremely* close to being broken, but not quite. Took his word for it, but had problems with nose bleeds until I was done high school, for the most part. But, also, my nose (which is already unfortunately beak-like, as far as I'm concerned) ended up with a large bump in the middle of it. I HATE the look of it- truly the only part of my body that Im uncomfortable with- probably because there's nothing I can do about it naturally.

I've always humoured the idea of a nose-job, but I have no money for it and I'm just not confident that it's right for me :S

Personally wouldn't consider having a nose job as i actually like my nose.. however i had cosmetic surgery last year.. The advice i can give you is to really really look into the company and the surgeon you have. Have consultations with different surgeons, and find out the after care from the companies.

Cosmetic surgery companies in the uk tend to be money orientated and i had really bad experiences with 2 companies.


I ended up going to an english company abroad for mine and the facilities were amazing... have had a couple of issues with the company since but results are amazing and my surgeon was the best and would have her again.

Theres a programme coming up on Channel 4 - should be next month, which will really really open your eyes to surgery, its very factual and covers a whole host of procedures. Its on for 4 days (i'm also in it but shhhhh) and will also show surgery gone wrong.

I can't stress how important it is to research your surgeon though as some are not what they seem.
