~Natural Remedies~
I love natural remedies, and would like to hear what you guys like and use.
Also I'm wondering if anyone has tried Chaga? I heard a lot of good things about
it, especially about it boosting the immune system, which we can all use in winter.
Even though it is one of Russian folk remedies, surprisingly enough, I have never tried it.

I've never heard of it! I'm pretty new go natural healing, but am getting more interested as I learn more about how traditional medicine is (mostly) based on greed and profits.
I'm a really big tea advocate however! When I start getting sick I start drinking tons of loose leaf white, green, oolong, and black and it really helps! (I switch them around since they all have different beneficial properties)

I am an all natural girl! Haha. I try to avoid chemicals in our house in all aspects and I love natural remedies. My fave is probably oil of oregano for sore throats/sinus issues. When I feel a sore throat coming on, I use 5 drops and it totally works!

I'm gonna have to keep an eye on this thread!! My favorite natural remedy is Aloe Vera. We actually get the giant leaves at the same import market that we go to for chicken necks and organ supply, and Rob peels the goo out. I love aloe vera in anything from lotions and ointments to even mixing in drinks and it has a plethora of benefits ingested or topical! =D

Oh yes, all good stuff mentioned here!
Kat, why not buy Aloe Vera plants? That's what we always did, and just cut a piece off a leaf when needed.

I'm a natural nut! Things I always have on hand is slippery elm (buy it by the pound!) golden seal root extract (great for eye infections) D-manose for bladder or kidneys, essential oils: Lavender, oregano oil, tea tree . Coconut oil for skin and cook with. I LOVE LOVE Dr. Christopher's formulas for just about anything. I give the nerve ones for my little seizure dog along with her PB so far no more seizures since July.

Where do you get oil of oregano and how do you take it? Do you just put the drops on your tongue or mix it with something? I have a sore throat now and would like to try it.

We buy ours at a natural grocery store. It comes in a small bottle with an eye dropper top. I put the drops right under my tongue and close my mouth for awhile. It burns! You can also put it in orange juice and drink it, which I've never tried. It's pretty gross, but better than being sick! Just make sure that the concentration is at least 70%.
