Ive been on pet forums before, asking for advice or querying knowledge and with saying something less knowledgeable, some forums can slam you down...
I only did research via the internet for my Chi's so Im no expert, but I find this message board so welcoming to any questions - no one preaches, shouts you down or forces their views, or makes out like your stupid for not reading a similar post etc, its a really nice place to be.
Ive also seem on some message boards 'cliques' of regular members that tend to undermine the less experienced members, theres none of that here either.
OMG I know EXACTLY what you mean. I was on the golden retriever forum and their answer for everything is 'take your dog to the vet" I read as a poster said that they thought there dog was having spay incontinence everyone said uti she kept saying again and again and again that when her dog got them it was very different symptoms. The posters got nasty and in the end she did the test and she was completely right. No uti, issues from her spay.
Now i'm all for taking my baby to the vet. But when people don't have money to spend because there 'might' be an issue over something like..she lost a tooth wrong or something stupid..you know what I mean.
The posters after that were just as nasty. It was really sad how it happened and how in the end alot of long time posters left because of the sudden turn : (
