I dont often watch the news but everyone at work today is talking about the London riots going on, and after looking online I cannot believe it - I didnt realise it was 'this' bad, its disgusting!? I cannot believe we're in 2011 and this is happening and getting so out of control...there appears to be no control.
Is anyone on here living near these areas? It must be worrying with reports of smaller riots spreading up the country Horrible
Its awful isnt it! I cant believe the damage these idiots are causing! There appears to be no fear of police or authority. I hope they manage to stop them before it gets further out of hand.
I know! Its horrible - seing people turn to animals, destroying their own communities and local businesses! I even read they had seen young women trying on shoes before deciding which to loot!!
I mean seriously! I thought this kind of thing was what they had an army for - to keep their people safe and to get control! Its mostly youth as well! Its just so sad... It just shows - that the "West" is no better then the "East" and that it can happen anywhere..

It is frightening how out of control it is. Not only the rioting but also the looting. My son travels into London every day to work and I can't help myself from telling him to get straight home and not hang about after work - and he's a grown man!

The paralells with the 1992 LA riots is unavoidable...
Sadly, the 'yoof' involved in these riots today probably have no idea why they are rioting.
We need curfews in place, and I honestly think we need heavier policing... why are we not using water canons??
Most of what is happening is about greed and thuggishness. Copy cat rioting in other cities is inexcusable.
They need to bring in the army to sort this out! its way out of hand. The nearest rioting to me is only 10 mins away!! needs to get sorted.
Theres a group of around 4000 memebers of the public planning dates and times to go and fight with the rioters!! our communities are risking their lives as the police cant deal witht them

I knew with the publicity it would spread, sad to see Manchester (my nearest city) now getting copycat riots
And horrified to read about rioters breaking into a ladys home whilst she was sleeping!!!! So basically no one can protect us in our own homes, very scary..never thought id see this happen.
It is almost laughable though, its like 'kids' have just realised 'if theres enough of us we can do ANYTHING we want'?! Photos of them just laughing whilst looting...
