I cant believe the sentances people whom commit animal cruelty get...I usually avoid any such news coverage on animals as I cant bare to hear/see it - But I read just recently someone had put their cat in the microwave and turned it on...luckily and amazingly it survived. And what was his sentance....'banned from keeping animals.'
How is that a sentance?! Thats just OBVIOUS not a sentance!!

I was wondering how the animal laws differed in different countires? Is it anymore punishable?

If you were in charge of the world for a day how would you deal with people whom abuse animals?

I dont even harm spiders - just because their smaller than me doesnt mean their any lessor than me, their a living being too!

I do think maybe licences should be granted to own any pet now, esp as so many people are just 'uneducated' about the resonsabilities of owning/caring for an animal - not everyone joins a forum to gain advice
I think potential owners should have to attend a training session at least. I still cant believe the amount of people that feed their dogs chocolate etc.
Instead the government (UK) will probably end up brining out a licence 'just' for so called 'dangerous' dogs they like to stereotype, blame and ban!

Why have Children In Need day every year yet were meant to be a nation of animal lovers? Why not raise money for Animals In Need day as well

my son-jeremy-is 15yrs n volounteers at the animal shelter(he wants to be an animal control officer when grown up)n u wouldnt believe the amount of horrible stories i hear.children n animals cant get themselves out of a bad situation so we have 2help them.its terrible!!

Here here to animal in need day!!! There r so many charities that look after children I would love to see more wider scale things done for animals!

I agree, I think everyone should have a license for each pet they own. Here in Oregon, you are supposed to have a license for each dog, but it really isn't enforced. Maybe if it was more strictly enforced, it would be harder for people to have so many animals and not take care of them properly.
