Hmm, it says the embedding was disabled? anyway it looks a lot like the puppy pen method a lot of users (including me!!) use for their dogs. The basic idea is that you have a crate leaving distinct separate areas; one for the potty (pads, newspapers, grass potty patch, litter box) and the other side for beds/toys/treats etc. A dogs natural aversion to soiling it's bed will encourage it to use the potty instead. As the dog catches on, you gradually increase the space until your dog learns to recognize your whole house as the 'bed' part. It's about developing a substrate preference, where they get used to just using one area.

Granted it's a good idea but it looks like someone just trying to make money from stating the obvious LOL. I can't believe they'd try to "patent" this.. its just a crate with its usual divider (that comes with most of the wire ones I've seen) where they cut out a hole. So I'd definitely agree that you can modify a crate on your own... the idea works wonderfully but it seems like these people are just doing it for money, as it is a popular method these days and nothing unique!
