I have a Nikon coolpix 4100, I'm sure a less expensive model but it is the best camera I've ever owned!!

I already have a point and shoot. I'm looking for a DSLR and it seems like the D3100 is the best one for me. i love the camera in red.

I have a D5000 and love it but to be honest it's the person taking the pics that matters.
Also it matters what lens you have on for the type of shots you want!

I have the package 18.55 nikkor for mine but I also bought the 55-200 nikkor lens which is great for 'outdoor' shots.

I'm sure someone with a lesser camera takes better pics than I do with mine.....lol
I'm no photographer but I do get some very nice shots that at least I'm happy with!

I get some super pics of the dogs and cats etc buttrying to get pics of running rodents is ny on impossible.

I have the D60 and I love it.

True, the person operating it is a big variable in the results, but having
a proper tool that lets you express your creativity is not something that can be ignored. There is a difference between being excited to pick up a camera and being frustrated every time you pick up a camera.

The D3100 compares favorably (or better) to the D60.
I'm very happy with mine.

You could search for threads by my name, I've posted a lot of photos here.
