I will have lots of time to be on here now because after 25 years 2 months and 8 days at my job as a Medical assistant I got laid off. (I started there when I was 12 LOL ) They call it budget cuts. But they are only laying off the people that have been there for years and years, One lady has been there 30 + years and she is 69 and can not afford to retire as she is single. Who is going to hire her knowing she will be retiring in a couple of years. It is so sad. I really thought I would retire there. I loved my job. The Dr I worked for for 22 years died of ALS 3 years ago. He would never let this happen to me. I just can't beleive it. I don't know how to do a resume. I guess I will have to learn. Or if anyone has any ideas, please feel free to pass them on. We are union but the way they are "restructuring" it makes the lay offs OK.

Sorry to hear that, things are sketchy where I work too they tell us one thing and we see another. I have a feeling it won't be too long before my job moves to Mexico. I have never done it but there are places online that will help you with a resume.

Kay, you have 25 years of experience in the medical field. You can get another job in a heartbeat if you want it. Believe me, they would be glad to have you! Look at it as a great opportunity.

Or use your new found freedom to do something you've always wanted to do. The sky is the limit.

Okay. I TOTALLY agree with Tracy!!

I am your resume gal. I do not talk about what I do on the boards here but be assured that I am very qualified to help you. I'd be honored to do so! I can get you started and you can fill in the critical parts since the medical field is not my industry.

Like you, I have 25+ years with my corporation. I, too, also started at 12! haha!

I can email you sample resumes, have you email me what you are starting from, etc.

PM me sometime and we can exchange contact info to make it easier and more private.
